Napoli will have one eye on how Mauro Icardi’s meeting with Inter goes later as they prepare to make a decision on Fernando Llorente.
Sky Sport Italia and Corriere dello Sport both report Napoli will hold talks with Llorente’s agent on Tuesday, where his free transfer could be rubber-stamped.
However, they add the Partenopei still have not given up on Icardi, although they accept time is fast running out to engineer a deal for the Argentine.
The 26-year-old continues to cling on to hope that he can work his way back into Antonio Conte’s plans, and that was reiterated by agent-wife Wanda Nara.
Despite their stance, both outlets claim Nerazzurri officials will again inform the pair that they are outside the club’s project and are free to leave.
The Partenopei are then expected to try again for Icardi, aware that he will not receive any playing time in 2019-20, but would have given themselves a timeframe of 48 hours.
As for the former Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus forward, Il Corriere concludes Napoli have already prepared him a two-year contract worth €2.5m a season.
