Wesley Sneijder tips Barcelona and Liverpool for the Champions League, but hopes Inter succeed after signing “superstar Romelu Lukaku.”
The former Nerazzurri midfielder just announced his retirement and is attending this evening’s draw for the 2019-20 group stage.
“It’s difficult to say what we’ll see this season because it’s just started, so I have some doubts, but based on last season I’d say Barcelona and Liverpool are the favourites,” Sneijder told Sky Sport Italia.

“Inter have improved a lot, started strong under Antonio Conte and have signed a superstar like Lukaku. I wish Inter the very best and hope they have a great season, both in Serie A and the Champions League.”
The Nerazzurri gave Lukaku the Number 9 jersey, having stripped it from Mauro Icardi, pushing the striker out of their plans.
“I don’t know Icardi personally and never worked with him, so I really couldn’t say anything.”
