Rebic on verge of Milan move

Italian and German reports claim Eintracht Frankfurt striker Ante Rebic has agreed a €25-30m transfer to Milan, rather than their rivals Inter.

The forward had been ‘reserved’ for the last week by Inter, who saw him as the ideal replacement should Matteo Politano move to Fiorentina.

However, it seems as if Inter have ruled out releasing Politano, even for €30m, so Rebic has been released.

Milan took advantage and dived in, knowing Inter had already agreed a deal, on loan with option to buy for €25-30m that becomes an obligation after a certain number of appearances.

Eintracht Frankfurt even released a statement this evening announcing Rebic was not in the squad for today’s Bundesliga game “by his own request.”

The Croatia international is a wide forward who cuts in from the left, but is considerably cheaper than Angel Correa, as Atletico Madrid again today refused to lower the €50m asking price.

Sky Sport Italia and Sky Sport Germany both agree the player is en route to Milan.

This is also important for Fiorentina, because when they sold Rebic to Eintracht Frankfurt, a clause ensured they would receive 30-50 per cent of his future transfer fee.
