Atalanta have announced Martin Skrtel’s departure, while Sevilla have confirmed that Simon Kjaer is headed for Bergamo.
Skrtel’s exit was made official in a mere, 11-word statement on Atalanta’s website.
The 34-year-old only joined the Dea last month but did not take part in their opening two Serie A games.
Replacing him will be Kjaer, who is returning to Italy after spells at Palermo and Roma.
“It’s true, Kjaer is in Italy for a medical, but we can’t say the move has gone through yet,” said Sevilla sporting director Monchi at Javier Hernandez’s unveiling.
“Even if does, we won’t bring anyone else in.”
It remains to be seen whether the Dane will join the Champions League qualifiers permanently or on loan.
