Sampdoria could bring back Matias Silvestre on a free transfer, a year after the defender left for Empoli.
Calciomercato.com reports Samp are looking at the free-agent market and Silvestre is on their shortlist.
The 34-year-old departed Empoli over the summer following their relegation to Serie B, and the website claims his representatives offered him to the Blucerchiati.
In turn, the Argentine would be ‘very happy’ to return to the club, where he made 132 appearances between 2014 and 2018.
Samp are in need of some stability at the back after conceding seven goals in their opening two Serie A games.
Transfer-window rules do not apply to free agents, so the former Milan and Inter stopper could come in straight away.
