Cagliari goalkeeper Alessio Cragno had surgery on his right shoulder today and is expected to be out of action for four months.
The shot-stopper had been struggling since a nasty fall during a pre-season friendly and tried non-surgical treatment to resolve the issue.
However, he eventually required an operation to correct the instability in the right shoulder.
That was performed at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome today and the prognosis is circa four months.
Cagliari signed Robin Olsen on loan from Roma as a replacement.
