Napoli and Inter seek ECA role

Napoli and Inter are battling for a spot at the table in the executive board of the ECA, currently chaired by Juventus chief Andrea Agnelli.

The European Club Association was formed in 2008 and acts as a committee of continental clubs helping to steer the direction of the sport.

According to several Italian newspapers, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis and Inter chairman Steven Zhang are both trying to get elected to the Executive Board tomorrow.

ADL is already the chief of the Marketing and Communication Working Group at the ECA, while Zhang played a key part in helping Milan and Cortina win the 2026 Olympics hosting rights.

It is possible the pair could reach a ‘pact’ before the vote that allows them to collaborate on bringing similar themes to the table.
