New details are emerging on the stadium Milan and Inter want to build as a replacement for the Stadio Meazza, with a 60,000 capacity and cost of €605m.

According to the Corriere della Sera newspaper, it would cost €45m just to knock down the iconic structure, let alone create a new one next to it in the San Siro area of the city.

It would cost in the region of €605m to create the new stadium.

The plans are still being worked out, but the idea is to have a capacity of 60,000, which can be reduced to 55,000 for particular events.

The focus will be on the ‘premium’ seats, with corporate tickets going from 10,300 for regular games to 12,500 for derbies and top fixtures.

Not all the seats would be covered, as that would involve bumping up the cost of the operation.

As the two clubs are sharing the same arena, they would want a system allowing the colour scheme and iconography to change with relative easy from one game to the next.

Both share black stripes, but Milan add red and Inter blue.

There are still question marks over the noise and parking spaces, considering this is a residential area, but would also have set aside 112,000sq metres for a shopping centre, 14,500sq metres for sporting activity, 16,500sq metres for a hotel, 4,400sq metres for a convention centre and over 72,000sq metres for offices contained in two towers.
