Rebic was a late arrival at Milan, swapping clubs with Andre Silva on deadline day last week, but the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt winger insists he can be thrown straight in against Verona this weekend.

“I want to thank everyone for being here,” began the Croat at his official unveiling.

“It’s a dream for me to be at this club. I’ve done some training with the team and I hope I can have a great season.

“I hope Milan win. I don’t know how I’ll perform if I play, but I really hope the club win the derby.

“I already know a lot about this great club, their history. I just said to Boban that I had to do well.”

The 25-year-old previously played for Fiorentina in Italy and was also linked with Inter

“I had no experience during my first spell in Italy, but I grew as a footballer with Eintracht.

“I feel very good and prepared. I’ve played for the national team and also Eintracht. I feel ready, but it depends on the Coach.

“I’m a combative character, that’s why I'm here. It’s a big challenge and I expect to compete and become a better player.

“I think that after my experience in Germany, I grew and I feel perfectly ready to play here.

“The coaches I had at Eintracht helped me. I feel mature compared to before as I was too young then.

“I didn’t talk to Inter directly, maybe my agent did. When I heard about Milan, I didn’t hesitate, I also talked to my father and he told me to come here.

“I’m used to playing in a 4-3-3, but in the last few years I’ve had to play as a second striker. It depends on the Coach and which formation he chooses.

“I’m not thinking about my first goal, but when it happens I won’t get too carried away because it’s not in my character to do so. I’ll look forward.

“I didn’t know Giampaolo, but I heard so many positive things about him. Boban also spoke well of him to me. My first impressions have been positive.”
