In the space of a few weeks, Blaise Matuidi has seemingly gone from Juventus outcast to negotiating a new contract.
The 32-year-old midfielder had been on the outskirts of the squad when Maurizio Sarri took over from Max Allegri this summer, but rejected potential moves to Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco.
He started Serie A games against Parma and Napoli, with reports in Calciomercato.com that Matuidi is now in talks over an extended deal.
His current contract is due to expire at the end of this season, so if there is no new extension, he’ll be able to negotiate a free transfer from January.
The World Cup winning France international arrived in Turin from PSG in the summer of 2017 for €25m plus bonuses.
