Ribery: 'That's why I came to Fiorentina'

Franck Ribery saw improvements as Fiorentina held Juventus 0-0 and praised the fans. “I came to Florence for a crowd like this.”

The Viola picked up their first point of the season after defeats to Napoli and Genoa, with the best chances testing Wojciech Szczesny.

“I am very happy, as it’s been three months since I played a full game and it went well. I am trying to find my form and it was a step forward,” Ribery told Sky Sport Italia after 68 minutes on the field.

“We tried everything to score a goal, but Juventus are a strong team and it was also very hot. We’re working all together, we have a good team and hopefully will win the next match.”

The former Bayern Munich star was given a standing ovation as he left the pitch, especially after sprinting back for a decisive tackle on Cristiano Ronaldo.

“The fans are marvellous, I came to Florence for a crowd like this, who pack out the stadium.”
