The Grifone remarkably go into this game unbeaten after a 3-3 draw at Roma and win over Fiorentina.

“We are eager to prove what we can do,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“Having analysed the last match, we realised that we can improve a great deal. We’re up against an excellent opponent, both in terms of their results and the style of football that they propose.

“I am happy for Atalanta and all that they are doing, because their success in reaching the Champions League can only act as motivation to other traditionally smaller clubs. I also truly appreciate their philosophy of football.”

Andreazzoli also earned praise for his Empoli’s approach last season, even if they were ultimately unable to avoid relegation.

It was enough to get him the Genoa job and he is relishing the experience at Marassi.

“Against Fiorentina, I was stunned by the crowd. I didn’t think we could generate such enthusiasm. I find that sport can reach an extra level when surrounded by enthusiasm and we want to repay the fans with our performances.”
