Wanda Nara claims “no-one can say ‘no’ to Paris Saint-Germain” after praising the club for giving Inter loanee Mauro Icardi a ‘great welcome’.
Icardi joined PSG on deadline day earlier in the month, having spent all summer out in the wilderness at Inter, and the striker played the final half-hour against Strasbourg on Sunday.
“I’m very happy, the match went well,” she told Tiki Taka after the French giants won 1-0, courtesy of Neymar’s last-gasp goal.
“Neymar’s goal was crazy. I didn’t know the stadium that well, but there was a great welcome for Mauro and the curva supported the team from start to finish.
“We’ve already made a group of friends and we took them to an Italian restaurant to let them know what we eat.
“Mauro’s name pronounced in French gave me a great buzz. It’s a great opportunity for him.
“They’re a top club and our children are very happy too. No-one can say ‘no’ to PSG. Out of all the possible destinations, they were the best in a logistical sense.
“A little while back, he was riding a scooter all over Paris and he sent me a photo: he’s very happy. You’re all invited to see Maurito.”
The Argentine then cracked a couple of jokes about her accommodation in Paris and whether her husband could still join Napoli.
“We’re modest, we all live in one room!” she quipped.
“Napoli still have the money they didn’t spend on Icardi, so there could be a surprise in January...”
