Jurgen Klopp has warned his Liverpool players to expect a Napoli side who are “stubborn in a very positive way” tomorrow night.
Klopp’s Liverpool begin the defence of their Champions League crown at the San Paolo, which they also visited in the group stage last season, losing 1-0 to a late Lorenzo Insigne goal.
“Napoli had another really good season, they have started the new one well,” the Coach said at a Press conference.
“They have some really good new players but are mainly the same. We are similar, we didn't sign a lot.
“Napoli are stubborn in a very positive way. They are creative. I enjoy analysing them.
“If we have a lucky draw then I will take it, but we want to win. Let’s play the game first and then I can decide on which result I wanted!”
The German then showered praise on Insigne and the ‘brilliant’ San Paolo dressing rooms.
“Yes,” he responded to a question about whether home advantage could help the Partenopei.
“Insigne is always smiling in my face before the game. After the game he has more reason.
“He’s a wonderful player. We are still working on defending him. Maybe one day it will happen.
“[The dressing rooms] are brilliant. For us they are exactly the same as last year. They left the away dressing room like it was.”
