Probable line-ups: Atleti-Juve

Federico Bernardeschi is set to replace Douglas Costa in Juventus’ attack against Atletico Madrid this evening.

Costa faces several weeks out with a thigh injury, so Bernardeschi should slot straight into the right of Juve’s front three, alongside Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Elsewhere, it seems to be a case of as you were for Juve, with Danilo and Matthijs de Ligt continuing to deputise for Mattia De Sciglio and Giorgio Chiellini at the back.

In midfield, Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot look like being benched in favour of elder statesmen Sami Khedira, Blaise Matuidi and the fit-again Miralem Pjanic.

Atleti, meanwhile, are expected to start with newcomers Kieran Trippier and Joao Felix – both of whom were linked with the over the summer.

The two sides locked horns in the Champions League Round of 16 last season, with Diego Simeone’s side winning the first leg 2-0 but a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick ultimately firing the Old Lady into the quarter-finals.

Atletico Madrid (probable): Oblak; Trippier, Gimenez, Savic, Lodi; Koke, Saul, Thomas, Lemar; Joao Felix, Diego Costa

Juventus (probable): Szczesny; Danilo, Bonucci, De Ligt, Alex Sandro; Khedira, Pjanic, Matuidi; Bernardeschi, Higuain, Ronaldo
