Former Roma and Italy striker Dani Osvaldo admits he “can’t say ‘no’ to Diego Maradona” if the new Gimnasia La Plata boss called him.
Osvaldo has been linked with coming out of retirement to play for Maradona, and the 33-year-old confessed he would be forced to reconsider his current career as a rock musician.
“I hope he doesn’t call me because you can’t say ‘no’ to Diego,” he told ESPN.
“It would put me in trouble. If he calls me, we’ll see. For now, all I know is that on September 21 I’m playing with Barrio Viejo [his band].
“My exit from football was a circus. I smoked all my life and played for the Italian national team, yet nothing happened.”
Gimnasia lost 2-1 to Racing Club in their first match under the Napoli legend on Sunday.
