After being mobbed again by angry fans, Sampdoria owner Massimo Ferrero has issued an ultimatum to Gianluca Vialli – pay up by next Friday or no sale.
Ferrero had another meal interrupted by supporters last night, with around 50 – many of them youngsters - trying to break into a restaurant.
He had been joined for dinner by Coach Eusebio Di Francesco and sporting director Carlo Osti.
Local police were called to send them away, assisted by the film producer’s own security, marking the second time such an incident has occurred in the space of two weeks.
Earlier in the day, Samp were forced to report a banner to police outside their training ground that read: “Shameful Ferrero, watch your back.”
“I’ll never be held hostage by anyone,” the club’s President told Tuttosport.
“If a new offer doesn’t arrive by next Friday, Sampdoria will no longer be sold.”
The Blucerchiati have made a miserable start to the season, losing their first three Serie A games and conceding nine goals in them.
