Hellas Verona Coach Ivan Juric said it “hurts to leave empty-handed” after another very impressive performance against Juventus.
The minnows had taken the lead in Turin through Miguel Veloso, despite Samuele Di Carmine missing a penalty, but Aaron Ramsey and a Cristiano Ronaldo spot-kick turned it around.
“It’s disappointing, because when we put in performances like this and against Milan last week, we ought to get something out of it and it hurts to leave empty-handed,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after a 2-1 defeat.
“It was an error on the penalty, there was no need to make the challenge on Cuadrado, he wasn’t going to score from there, but these things happen.
“Miguel Veloso is in good shape, he’s very motivated and played well today. We made a few too many technical errors and lost some cheap passes, because otherwise we could’ve done even better.
“We created plenty of chances and allowed Juve very little in attack.”
Sofyan Amrabat is making an impact in the Hellas Verona defence.
“He was our objective from the start of the summer, but has huge margin for improvement, especially in his positioning and where he places his body when defending.”
