Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo ignored Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk in the voting for The Best FIFA Men’s Player of 2019.

Ronaldo was joined by the pair on the podium in Milan, but he did not attend the gala to watch Messi scoop up a record sixth FIFA gong.

It later emerged that the No 7 did not include the Argentine or Van Dijk on his voting slip, instead going for Juve teammate Matthijs de Ligt, Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.

The Twitter account of the Portuguese national team also posted a picture of Ronaldo with ‘The Be7st’ as its caption.

Messi went for Ronaldo in second place and De Jong in third, while backing Liverpool winger Sadio Mane to win the prize.

Van Dijk did not vote for the Portuguese at all, instead going for Messi, Mane and Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard.

Juve and Italy captain Giorgio Chiellini went for Ronaldo, De Jong and Mohamed Salah in that order, whereas CT Roberto Mancini had down Ronaldo, Messi and Salah.
