Liverani: 'Take Lecce positives'

Fabio Liverani tried to “take the positives” from the performance, as Lecce lost 1-0 at home to Roma. “It bodes well for the future.”

The Salentini have now lost all three home games this season against Hellas Verona, Napoli and Roma, as they were beaten by an Edin Dzeko header today.

It could’ve been worse, but Gabriel was at full stretch to save an Aleksandar Kolarov penalty.

“It was our best performance at the Stadio Via del Mare and I received the response I was looking for, even if the result didn’t go our way,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“If we play like this with our third game in a week and with players not at 100 per cent, it bodes well for the future. I take the positives from this game.

“Marco Mancosu was struggling with the heat after so many games close together. It was unthinkable he could play the second 45 minutes at the same level.

“The most disappointing thing about the game today is that we lacked determination on set plays. We conceded the goal when caught in possession, too.”
