Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi is facing a long ban for starting work at the Olimpico while still being contracted to Torino.

Petrachi left Torino under something of a cloud as his resignation was not initially accepted.

Despite that, it is alleged he began working for Roma weeks before they formalised his appointment.

“I met Inter in May and set my price, a price that was never met,” he said during Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s presentation, referring to Edin Dzeko’s failed move to Inter.

Now, Il Tempo is reporting the 50-year-old will ‘likely’ be suspended as a result of his conduct.

The newspaper explains FIGC prosecutor Giuseppe Pecoraro has already launched an investigation, based on official reports.

Petrachi now risks being banned from a few months to a year, potentially affecting the Giallorossi’s plans in the transfer market.
