Parma defender Riccardo Gagliolo has received his debut senior call-up for Sweden at the age of 29, so could face Spain.
Born in the Italian town of Imperia, in Liguria, Gagliolo has always said he’d like to represent the country of his Swedish mother, Eva.
He has had a Swedish passport since 2015 and it finally paid off, as he was named in Jan Andersson’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Malta and Spain.
The former Carpi player can work as a centre-back or left-back.
Gagliolo made six appearances for Parma this season between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, scoring one goal.
