Leonardo Spinazzola opened the scoring with a bizarre double ricochet header, but Michael Liendl’s scorcher drew this Europa League clash level.

“We knew this would not be an easy game,” the Coach told Roma TV in Austria.

“Wolfsberg are a good team, but I think we dominated pretty much throughout. We often got the last ball wrong and had the chances to get all three points, even if they scored an excellent goal.

“It was tough to get away from their pressing game, especially on the wings. We could’ve scored many goals and it was the final decision, the assist that we tended to get wrong. I think we can do better in the final third.

“The attitude was good from everyone and I am satisfied with those who played for the first time from the start. We needed to pass the ball around faster to get away from the pressing, but made some technical errors.”

Roma and Wolfsberger are top of the group together on four points, as Istanbul Basaksehir were held 1-1 in stoppages by Borussia Monchengladbach.
