There are reports Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara has torn the meniscus in his knee, but not damaged the anterior cruciate ligament.
He was stretchered off during this afternoon’s 1-1 draw with Cagliari at the Stadio Olimpico.
Diawara seemed to sprain his knee and was taken straight to the Villa Stuart clinic.
According to Il Tempo newspaper staff, the diagnosis is a torn meniscus, which would require approximately one to two months out.
The important news is that the ACL is unaffected, as that would’ve been a far more serious injury.
The Giallorossi have suffered from a spate of knee injuries in recent months, most recently Davide Zappacosta this week ruled out for five months by a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
