UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings into allegations of racist behaviour from Lazio fans against Stade Rennais last week.
Lazio came back from behind to beat Rennes 2-1 in the Europa League, but matters off the field could be about to take the gloss off their performance.
That is because UEFA is probing the Aquile for alleged racist chanting from the stands.
The capital club have a history of incidents in European fixtures, while their President Claudio Lotito recently courted controversy for referring to white skin as “normal skin”.
UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will issue its verdict on October 17.
