Francesco Guidolin is in talks over a return to Genoa, who look set to part with Aurelio Andreazzoli.
Sky Sport Italia reports a meeting is under way between Guidolin and Genoa President Enrico Preziosi, suggesting the club have made up their mind.
The Grifone called off training on Tuesday as Preziosi planned to hold a showdown summit with Andreazzoli.
Despite only arriving from Empoli in June, the 65-year-old’s position seems untenable after just two wins from eight Serie A games.
Tuttomercatoweb and Calciomercato.com have since put out the same line as Sky.
Guidolin has been out of work since leaving Swansea City in October 2016 and already coached Genoa in 2005.
Nonetheless, the 63-year-old is one of Italy’s most experienced Coaches, having led Udinese to the Champions League playoffs in 2013 and won silverware with both Vicenza and Palermo.
