Cafu 'investigated for criminal links'

Police are reportedly investigating links between Cafu and PCC, described as Brazil’s largest criminal organisation.

The link has come about after authorities discovered the PCC’s accountant had received cash deposits from Cafu relating to the sale of buildings and land in the state of Sao Paulo.

The 49-year-old has since issued a statement denying the accusations.

“It’s all false. I don’t know where this story has come from, since I don’t have any property in that area.”

The former Milan and Roma right-back lost 19 properties over the summer after it was revealed he had racked up debts amounting to several millions in Euros.

Cafu, who is currently working as an ambassador for the 2022 World Cup, has also been mourning the tragic death of his 30-year-old son Danilo.
