Tension in Argentina victory

Argentina beat Ecuador 6-1 in a friendly match, with Fiorentina defender German Pezzella on target, but Lautaro Martinez had a moment of tension.

The Seleccion were already 2-0 up when they were awarded a penalty and it wasn’t clear who was meant to take it.

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and Leandro Paredes both wanted the ball, so eventually Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul intervened to calm the situation down.

Paredes eventually won and converted successfully, which saw him hug Lautaro during the celebration.

Both were substituted at half-time and Paulo Dybala came on, but made little impact.

Fiorentina defender Pezzella did get on the scoresheet with a header.

Lucas Alario, Nicolas Dominguez, Lucas Ocampos and an own goal rounded out the result.
