‘Alexis faces 2-3 months out’

Chile CT Reinaldo Rueda has admitted that he expects Inter forward Alexis Sanchez to be out “for two or three months”.

Sanchez suffered potential ligament damage to his ankle during Chile’s 0-0 draw with Colombia at the weekend, and Rueda conceded his star man could need surgery to correct the problem.

“He could end up under the knife,” he said at a Press conference.

“Inter, his club, will decide. We could lose him for two or three months. It’s a shame because he had started playing again with Inter and scored two goals, while also playing in the Champions League.

“He was happy and super motivated. Now we have to wait for these decisive hours.”

The 30-year-old is scheduled to spend the entire season at Inter, on loan from Manchester United.
