Fabio Paratici has ruled out signing Ivan Rakitic in January, while declaring that Cristiano Ronaldo will stay with Juventus until at least 2021.

Paratici spoke to reporters after he picked up his third Manlio Scopigno and Felice Pulici award for best director.

“Our squad is complete and we consider it to be one of the best in Europe,” he replied to a question about the Barcelona midfielder.

“We’re happy with our players. I’d rule out the arrival of a full-back. With Mandzukic, we chose a quiet time for him [to leave] but a move to Qatar did not materialise so he stayed with us.

“Now we’ll see what happens in January.”

The 47-year-old then commented on Ronaldo, who continues to suggest he could quit football in the near future, and new boys Matthijs de Ligt and Adrien Rabiot.

“For us he’s very important, we’re happy about him like he is about us. I have no doubts that he will stay, both at the end of this season and next.

“Even Nedved, when he arrived in Turin, had problems adapting to the team for months and he always reminds me.

“I’m confident Matthijs will give us great satisfaction. Rabiot needs time, it’s not easy get back playing after a long time out.”
