The 34-year-old becomes the sixth player in history to reach such a milestone after Josef Bican (805), Pele (779), Romario (748), Ferenc Puskas (709) and Gerd Muller (701).

Czech-Austrian striker Bican – active between 1928 and 1955 – is widely considered the highest professional scorer of all time.
