After his 700th career goal, Cristiano Ronaldo insists he doesn’t seek out records, but rather “records come looking for me!”

The Juventus striker reached the milestone during last night’s Euro 2020 qualifier in Ukraine, converting a penalty for Portugal.

“Not just anyone can reach this figure. Thank you to my teammates, colleagues and Coaches who have helped me to become the player I am,” Ronaldo told reporters.

“I am disappointed that we didn't win, but proud of the team.”

CR7 has scored 95 goals in 162 games for his country at various levels, along with 605 goals in 811 club matches.

“How many records do I have? I don't know. I have to enjoy the moment and thank those who helped me reach this impressive mark. 

“Records come naturally – I don't go looking for them, records come looking for me! Without having an obsession, they happen naturally.”
