One-time Milan and Italy wonderkid Hachim Mastour is set to return to football with Serie C side Reggina.
Mastour has been without a club since leaving Greek club PAS Lamia earlier in the year but now has the chance to kickstart his career with Reggina, who have suffered a similar decline in recent seasons.
“It’s a big deal for us because we believe in his talent and desire for revenge,” sporting director and ex-Manchester United goalkeeper Massimo Taibi told Fox Sports.
The 21-year-old is expected to sign on with the southern Italian outfit until 2022 imminently, having failed to impress Parma coaches.
Mastour was considered one of the most promising young talents in world football when he signed for Milan in 2012.
However, he failed to make any first-team appearances for the Rossoneri, while loan spells at Malaga and Zwolle were similarly unsuccessful.
The attacker played seven times for Italy’s Under-16 team but made his debut for the Moroccan national team in 2015.
