Dries Mertens and Jose Callejon have reportedly rejected moves to China and Qatar but want Napoli to reward them for their loyalty.

Mertens and Callejon are out of contract at the end of the season and Sky Sport Italia confirms they were considering China and Qatar as potential destinations.

However, the broadcaster notes the two forwards have already turned down advances from Asia.

Dries Mertens and Jose Callejon have reportedly rejected moves to China and Qatar but want Napoli to reward them for their loyalty.

Mertens and Callejon are out of contract at the end of the season and Sky Sport Italia confirms they were considering China and Qatar as potential destinations.

However, the broadcaster notes the two forwards have already turned down advances from Asia.

On the other hand, they would be holding out for “a financial reward” to extend their deals with Napoli, as well as their image rights being returned to them. 

That could prove troublesome as Partenopei patron Aurelio De Laurentiis has already made it clear he will not improve on his previous proposals to the pair.

De Laurentiis has also always insisted on owning his players’ image rights, which have at times led to transfers being called off.
