“If I move Roberto Gagliolo to a more central role, then we have Giuseppe Pezzella. Or we have Kastriot Dermaku in the squad, who has a few caps for Albania, and can also be evaluated for centre-back.”

So far this season, 27-year-old Dermaku has only made one late substitute appearance in the Coppa Italia back in August.

“This is a tough game, because Genoa’s performances do not reflect their current position in the table. We are both battling for the same objective, which is mid-table safety. That means we must give everything for a result, because this is a six-pointer.

“The defeats we’ve suffered this season must be opportunities to learn that if we don’t play with intensity and determination, then we will struggle. We had those aspects against Sassuolo and Torino, so took home the results.”
