Roberto De Zerbi rues “avoidable goals” after Sassuolo were beaten 4-3 on their own turf by Inter. “I liked the reaction.”

The Neroverdi made it a much tighter game than expected, fighting back from 4-1 down to 4-3 in the final stages.

“We were up against a very strong side and it’s really disappointing that we conceded some avoidable goals. Romelu Lukaku’s to make it 2-1 was particularly costly, as it changed the game,” the Coach told DAZN.

“We had the chance to score our own opportunity, but then instead conceded a stupid goal on the counter. I liked the reaction, as we saw the spirit that always ought to be there.

“It’s risky to use three forwards and a trequartista, but it was better for us because we stopped Inter going on the counter and managed to pin them back. We haven’t yet made that extra step up a level.”
