Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso has declared that his club hope to move into a new stadium by 2023.
Commisso has made no secret of his desire to build a new venue to replace the ageing Artemio Franchi, and the Italo-American billionare is ready to get to work.
“We’re continuing to work, 48 months were talked about and we want to use 47 of them,” he told reporters.
“The objective is for Fiorentina to play in their new stadium in September 2023.
“The costs, infrastructure and everything else must be right. I want to have control of the area I invest in.”
Mayor of Florence Dario Nardella added: “We’re on the same wavelength. Commisso’s points are the same as ours.
“There’s harmony, we’ve set ourselves the same objective and we’ve already started working.”
