“I don’t trust this talk of crisis, as Torino have one of the best squads in Serie A,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“If we do things the right way, we are pretty tough opponents too. Toro will want to get a result just as much as us, so we are ready for this type of match. There are many hidden dangers involved and we are fully concentrated.

“It’s crucial that we had the right approach in training when preparing for this game, as otherwise it really would be very difficult.”

Cagliari had a rough start to the season, largely because top scorer Leonardo Pavoletti suffered a devastating knee injury and there was no real replacement.

“The lads did well to understand what needed to change and we have been gradually improving. In any case, we await Leo with open arms when he fully recovers.”

Cagliari squad for Torino: Rafael, Aresti, Olsen; Pinna, Mattiello, Klavan, Pisacane, Ceppitelli, Faragò, Pellegrini, Walukiewicz; Nainggolan, Rog, Cigarini, Birsa, Oliva, Nandez, Ionita, Deiola, Castro; Cerri, Joao Pedro Simeone
