Marek Hamsik returns to the San Paolo for the first time since he left Napoli when they play Atalanta on Wednesday, announced his agent.
Representative Juri Venglos confirmed in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss that the Slovakian will be present for the first time since moving to Chinese club Dalian Yifang when Partenopei welcome high flying Atalanta to Napoli tomorrow evening.
“Yes, my client will be present for Napoli-Atalanta and it will be a beautiful moment for Marek, who has written history with the club,” Venglos told the radio station.
“Also for the fans, who will be able to see their former captain, the clubs leading goal scorer in the history of the football club.”
Though he is boasting the record with 121 goals, his agent claims he is not worried about losing out to the current Belgian attacker Dries Mertens, who has scored 116 goals for Napoli so far.
“If Mertens might beat his record? It’s all normal, Hamsik grabbed those numbers as a midfielder. He will be happy if the Belgian beats his record with a bundle of goals already against Atalanta,” added the agent.
“I hope the club is preparing something special for Hamsik’s return to Castelvolturno."
