Inter target Arturo Vidal is flirting with Nerazzurri by stating that Antonio Conte “made me one of the best” and admits he is “not happy” at Barcelona.
Injury problems at San Siro has given Conte headache at times this season and the club is rumoured to be ready to dive into the January transfer market, linking them to several players across the continent – one of them being Vidal.
The Chilean midfielder admits he’s got good memories from his time working under the new Inter boss when they were both at Juventus.
“I have experienced a lot of nice things with him. Thanks to him I became one of the best,” said Vidal in an interview with El Mercurio. “In football, the most important thing is to be trusted and if a coach has got that faith in you, it makes you grow a lot.”
He claims that he is ready to buckle up and work hard for a spot in the starting XI at Camp Nou, even if he has found himself to be down the pecking order under his current manager Ernesto Valverde.
“I will work hard to not leave this club and contribute to our seasonal objectives. But I’m not happy,” the 32-year-old explained. “Even if I’m trying to get through this situation and earn a place in the starting line-up.
“I have worked hard my whole career, my moment hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m calm, as I know it will.
“I don’t seem to find an explanation. There are different ways to look at football, these are the decisions a Coach must take. I try to help the squad when I’m called upon.”
