After three points away at Fiorentina, Inzaghi admits he needs to address some small problems in the side’s performances of late. The win came on the back of a defeat to Celtic in the Europa League and they are now preparing for their third game in six days.

“I think it was a very important win for us and for our situation in the table,” said Inzaghi at a press conference. “In the same way we analysed the match in Glasgow, we have looked at the mistakes we need to eradicate from our game. I think we played a great match, as we also did against Celtic. From Thursday we only had two days to prepare for it.

“We need to know how to accept the criticism, look at it the right way and understand where they are coming from. It’s part of our work. A coach needs to look ahead with the right ideas, to reduce the errors when making decisions, there are many.”

There are not many days between last weekend’s fixtures and the next one this Wednesday, and the 43-year-old is concerned about the fitness of some key members. Striker Ciro Immobile might not be a 100 per cent, whilst he also adds that Lucas Leiva is struggling.

“At the moment I’ve got very few updates, yesterday I was watching the players that didn’t play in Florence. From this afternoon until tomorrow morning I will know more, it's the same situation as we had after Glasgow. I need to see how they have recuperated. Immobile and Leiva have some small issues, I need to evaluate them.”

The big duel of the match is between the two teams attacking heavyweights, when Immobile comes up against Andrea Belotti.

“They are two international forwards. I admire Belotti, I know him very well. I hope that Ciro will fare better tomorrow,” he added.
