Rocco Commisso says Fiorentina now “accept” Franck Ribery’s ban, Sandro Tonali and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are “dreams”, but a new stadium may not happen.

Commisso was initially furious with Ribery’s red card against Lazio, threatening to contest any punishment, but the Fiorentina owner has since backed off after the winger was suspended for three games.

“We accept Ribery’s ban, so let’s move on,” he told Radio Toscana.

“I’m sorry for him because he’d been the best in Serie A, then this happened to the poor lad.

“When I played, I never agreed with the referees. People love me even when we don’t win, but we hope to win again soon.

“I saw the lads demoralised, especially Ribery. It was a bad day for the red cards and also for the injuries to Lirola and Caceres.”

The Italo-American tycoon recently announced plans for a new stadium to be built by 2023…

“My promise doesn’t only depend on me, unlike Chiesa. We need to consider politics, institutions…

“If things don’t speed up and I don’t have control, maybe I won’t build one. There must be a tender for the purchase. I don’t know how long it’ll take.”

Finally, the 69-year-old was asked about Tonali and Ibrahimovic, as well as whether there were any changes to Federico Chiesa’s fate.

“They’re dreams… I wouldn’t know yet,” he admitted.

“As for Chiesa, I don’t know anything about him leaving. We haven’t talked to him. Things are done together.”
