He hinted he was looking for a return to Serie A and there were reports of Bologna offering €8m for an 18-month salary, but this evening Sabatini confessed it was all true.
“Ibrahimovic wants to join us because of his rapport with Sinisa,” the director told TuttoMercatoWeb in the mixed zone after a 2-1 defeat to Inter.
“It’s not impossible. It can be done, but if it is, it’ll be because of the affection that bonds them together. Ibra would like to help Mihajlovic and I can say we’ll do everything to make this madness happen.”
Bologna coach Mihajlovic is currently undergoing his third course of chemotherapy, as he was diagnosed with leukaemia in July.
