The 49-year-old had been appointed in September 2018 with his team struggling in Serie B, but he steered them to an unexpected promotion.

They won the Serie B title in the 2018-19 season and started this campaign with a Coppa Italia exit to Perugia in August.

Brescia have two wins, a draw and seven defeats in Serie A, scoring 10 goals and conceding 16.

The Rondinelle are in the bottom three, but have a game in hand to be played against Sassuolo next month.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the favourite to replace Corini is Diego Lopez, who already worked with President Massimo Cellino at Cagliari.

Other candidates mentioned were Davide Nicola, Beppe Iachini and former Italy CT Cesare Prandelli.
