The FIGC has officially applied for Serie A clubs to be awarded five substitutions in matches.
Serie A sides are currently entitled to use up to three of their 12 subs during League games, but that could be about to change.
As per ANSA, FIGC President Gabriele Gravina has sent an application to the International Football Association Board (IFAB), asking for an increase.
IFAB, not FIFA, is the governing body that controls the Laws of the Game in the sport of association football.
Clubs in Serie C and D already benefit from having up to five substitutions in their matches.
If the request is granted, Serie A will become the first major top tier in Europe to boast such a number of alterations.
