Max Allegri remains the favourite to take the Bayern Munich job after Bild report the club rejected Arsene Wenger.
The German giants are currently third in the Bundesliga, although they have already qualified for the Champions League Round of 16.
They parted company with Niko Kovac this week by mutual consent and are expected to appoint a replacement during the break for international duty.
According to Bild, Wenger called up Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to offer his services, but was told he is not on their short-list of options.
This puts former Juventus coach Allegri back to the status of favourite for the role, even if he seems to prefer a Premier League option.
Allegri is available after his contract with Juve was cancelled by mutual consent in June.
