This is surprisingly a battle for position, as while the Giallorossi are back on track following two wins, they are still only two points clear of Parma.

Eusebio Di Francesco rescued his job with a convincing victory over Sassuolo, which saw Nicolò Zaniolo score a sensational debut Serie A goal.

The injury crisis has finally passed too, with only Daniele De Rossi still on the treatment table, as even Lorenzo Pellegrini is fit for the bench.

More importantly, Dzeko gets his first start in over a month, supported by youngsters Cengiz Under, Zaniolo and Justin Kluivert.

Gervinho is surprisingly still very close to the player he was when leaving Roma for a new experience in China back in January 2016, scoring five goals in 12 Serie A appearances this term.

He is flanked by Luca Siligardi and Jonathan Biabiany for a False 9 system, because Roberto Inglese is not even on the bench due to a stomach bug, while Bruno Alves returns from suspension in the back four.

The last time Parma defeated Roma was in 2012, when strikes by Ishak Belfodil, Marco Parolo and Cristian Zaccardo secured a 3-2 victory for the Ducali. Since then the Giallorossi have won four and drawn one against the Crociati, scoring 11 and conceding just four goals during that stretch.

Roma: Olsen; Florenzi, Manolas, Fazio, Kolarov; Cristante, Nzonzi; Under, Zaniolo, Kluivert; Dzeko
