Andrea Conti's agent has revealed that the right-back turned down offers from six clubs including Crystal Palace to stay at Milan.

Conti was one of the players Milan brought in during their summer transfer splurge of 2017, but he has barely played due to two serious knee injuries.

Now, according to Mario Giuffredi, the 25-year-old could have replaced Aaron Wan Bissaka at Palace following his move to Manchester United.

"Over the summer, he [Conti] had offers from Parma, Werder Bremen, Crystal Palace, SPAL and other teams, at least five or six of them, but he insisted on staying at Milan," told Milan News.

Conti made his name at Atalanta as an adventurous right-back, and Giuffredi insists that his client should always be played in that position.

"If he's a right-back, he must always be played as one. He played as a right-sided defender in a back three against Lecce and Roma.

"He needs to play in his correct position."

The ex-Atalanta stopper started against Juventus on Sunday night and put in a spirited display, so was Giuffredi happy with how he played?

"Against Juve he was back playing in his natural role, and he played very well. However, he must be calm.

"One game is not enough, he has to show the same in other games and hopefully we'll see the Conti of old again."
