Three-way battle for Mertens?

Milan and Juventus could reportedly join Inter in a three-way fight for Napoli attacker Dries Mertens.

Inter were linked with a January swoop for Mertens yesterday, but Tuttosport claims city rivals Milan are now looking at him to bolster their front line.

The Turin daily explains how the Rossoneri are in the market for another striker as Krzysztof Piatek is struggling to recapture his form of last season.

However, the pair could be trumped by Juve, with Il Mattino writing how they have also entered the race.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and seems set to leave Napoli this winter as a result.

Bianconeri boss Maurizio Sarri knows the Belgian well, having reinvented him as a centre-forward at the San Paolo during the 2016-17 campaign.

He was hugely prolific that year, scoring 34 goals in all competitions, and goals have been generally scarce for the Old Lady this term.
