Lorenzo Pellegrini has reportedly agreed a new contract with Roma, in a blow to the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.
Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira writes how Pellegrini is in line to earn €3m a season until 2024 with Roma, who are looking to shut down speculation about the his future.
Schira adds the release clause of €30m in the midfielder’s current deal, payable in two transactions of €15m, will be removed from any renewal.
Born and raised in the Italian capital, barring a spell at Sassuolo, the 23-year-old is considered the club’s next ‘bandiere’ after Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi.
However, his season has been curtailed by a metatarsal fracture, limiting him to just six appearances so far.
